A little of what I've been doing lately.
The word on the street is that blogging is a daily or weekly pursuit. Huh.
Onward and upward, then.
Let fall begin. I have so many projects in the lineup, I can't quite get anything done. I have been bouncing around all over the place, but several times during the day, I find myself at a standstill, scratching my head and saying, Okay, wait, what was I doing?
As the weather gets chillier, I start nesting. And nesting for me means organizing my stuff. So I've begun (and not yet finished) organizing Inish Knits according to gauge. I get distracted easily, mostly because everything is so beautiful.
I have been starting projects--small ones, mostly--all summer long. Nothing (or at least, very little) of what I start gets finished. After three months of hot weather, I have two pairs of socks, a fingerless mitt, a baby hat, a cowl neck, and
three four unfinished sweaters laying around the shop. And pattern writing? That just hasn't been happening.
Those days are over. Along with the blog-free ones, too. I need a schedule. A routine. I need efficiency. That is what fall is all about to me:
reclaiming my life reconfiguring.
I've been spinning a lot lately. And LOVING it. I finally feel like I've wrapped my mind around the concept of plying, and I have a little more control over the thickness of my yarn. The latest yarns I've made are in the bulky weight range, although I really should check out my WPIs to be sure. Or hey, knit a swatch! That's a novel idea! But it looks so puffy and squishtastic as yarn, I don't really want to ruin it by knitting it up.
Okay, that is enough for today. I have been monkeying with TypePad the entire day. That's right. For 6 1/2 hours. I am not going to keep fooling around with this post. It is not perfect. And I am okay with that.
The point is just to get it out there, right?
