You stop watching where you're going for like, five minutes, and SHAZAM,
you've picked up cross stitch.
I know--I didn't see it coming, either.
Project: Jenny Bean's Christmas Ornament 2009, a gift from Cindy.
Started: December 28th, 2010.
Finished: January 1st, 2011.
Materials: 32-count linen and assorted handpainted cotton and silk flosses. (It's no surprise, but I love working with silk. Duh.)
Notes: Cross stitch is my new favorite thing to do. I'd rather do it than get drunk on New Year's.

2011 is going to be the best. Year. Ever.
I fell so far behind in what I wanted to get done in 2010 that I'd rather not recap at all. That year is over. It's time to move on.
I predict it that 2011 will be a year full of laughing, growing and making stuff. (The first part of the year also falls under the category of the last year in my twenties, or The Year I Had Better Get My Act Together And Start Taking Vitamins, so mind/body health is in the stars, too.)
I will finish my first quilt.
(Oh, had I not mentioned the quilt--my first one--that I started in July? Well, here I am, mentioning it now. Ready for its borders, backing and binding.)
Santa brought me a huge stock pot and a canner this year (yippee!), and with my seed catalogues already piling up,
I can't wait to get started making--and growing--more food. (Santa also renewed my subscription to F & W. Woot!)
Samples will get knit,
yarn will get spun,
and I plan on cross stitching even more.
See? I've already started another project:
Basically, my New Year's resolution is to become an old lady. I'm already doing pretty well. I even have the cat.
